Stakeholder workshop on Earth Observation and Environmental Modelling for the Mitigation of Health Risks in Kampala, Uganda, 22 May 2012

EO2HEAVEN organized a workshop on environmental modeling in Uganda on the 22nd of May 2012. The workshop was hosted by Makerere University and other project partners such as KIT and CSIR participated in the event. The participants represented all levels of the health system from the Ministry of Health as well as from other health organizations.

The participants input on tools developed or being developed was being sought and the overall objective was to achieve a better understanding of how the project’s results could be of benefit to the public Health of Ugandans and neighbouring countries.

This activity included analysis and discussion on the issues that hinder effective surveillance and control of cholera. Finally the participants set standards for an adequate surveillance response.
